Privacy Policy
Effective 26 August 2026. Applies to the Scrollometer iOS app.
Scrollometer collects no personal data, has no account and no server, and sends nothing off your device on its own. The only things that ever leave are ones you send yourself — a recap card you choose to share, or an email you write to support. The rest of this page explains what that means in detail.
What Scrollometer stores
On your iPhone only, in the app's own storage:
- Which apps you chose to track, as opaque tokens supplied by iOS. Scrollometer cannot convert these back into app names or read them as text.
- How many minutes iOS reported for each of those apps, per day.
- The distances calculated from those minutes, and your settings.
Raw event records are automatically deleted after 8 days. Daily totals are kept so history and weekly recaps work.
What Scrollometer does not do
- It transmits nothing on its own. The app contains no networking code, so it cannot send anything anywhere by itself.
- It does not collect analytics or crash telemetry.
- It contains no advertising SDK and does no ad targeting.
- It has no account, no sign-in and no server.
- It shares nothing with third parties. Martin Apps LLC receives no copy of anything the app records.
- It cannot see the content of any app, your messages, your browsing or your location.
Screen Time access
Scrollometer asks for Screen Time (Family Controls) access during setup. This is used for one purpose only: to receive the amount of time you spent in the apps you selected, so that time can be converted into an estimated distance.
This data is delivered by iOS to Scrollometer on your device and stays there. The Screen Time data available to Scrollometer does not include what you viewed, typed or did inside the selected apps, and Scrollometer requests nothing beyond usage time for apps you picked yourself.
You can withdraw this access at any time in the iOS Settings app, under Screen Time.
When something does leave your phone
Two things can send information off your device, and both require you to start them:
- Sharing a recap card. If you tap share on a weekly recap, iOS sends the image you generated to whichever destination you pick. Scrollometer does not choose the destination and receives no copy.
- Emailing support. If you write to the address on the support page, that email — including your address and anything you choose to include — arrives in an ordinary mailbox. It is used only to answer you, and kept only as long as that takes.
Neither happens automatically, and neither sends anything the app recorded unless you put it there yourself.
Data retention and deletion
Everything is stored inside the app's container on your iPhone. Deleting Scrollometer deletes all of it. Martin Apps LLC holds no copy, so there is nothing to request, export or have erased — no server ever received it.
Children
Scrollometer collects no data from anyone, including children.
